Culture & Tradition with a special focus.
Mondsee is also worth seeing culturally, like for example the Rauchhaus, the
Pfahlbaumuseum or the
oldest Baroque church in Austria.
The Mondsee brass band and the Tiefgraben Trachtenmusic band are among the associations most steeped in tradition in the MondSeeLand and are still regarded as the musical flagship of the region.
The repertoire of the ensemble ranges from traditional, Austrian brass music and symphonic music through church- and light music to the finest folk music and cool big band sound.
Excursions to the Attersee and Wolfgangsee lakes on the Schafberg, to the nearby Salt mine or to the world’s largest glacial cave are also recommended.
The festival and culture city of Salzburg is only twenty minutes by car and has a lot to offer culturally, large shopping centres and the picturesque Getreidegasse. Also: shop or even go to the theatre or a concert.
